Whispering Windows - A Farmstay at Masinagudi

Masinagudi is a wonderful place that is located on the outskirts of the Mudumalai National Reserve. Even though it is not a very famous place for tourists, it is very rich in its exotic landscape and pleasent climate. It has various resorts and home-stays to facilitate the stay of the tourists who visit the Mudumalai National Reserve. We had booked our stay at a place called "Whispering Windows" which is a farm-stay that is built inside a coconut grove. Although not very big, the place was well maintained. A good place for a weekend relaxation to keep the stress of the daily city life away from our minds.

A few snaps of the farm-stay:

The place is well-decorated and gives a good feel for the perfect relaxation with the rich variety of plants and not to forget, the Buddha statue.

The inhabitants of the Mudumalai Forest

The Mudumalai National Park is one of the dense forests along he Western Ghats. It is rich in wildlife. It is a tiger reserve and also has a variety of other animals and birds. Deer, Peacock, Bison and Langur are among the most populated species in the forest and are mostly spotted by tourists. The animals are spotted more on the highway roads that go through the forest than on the guided safari organized by the forest department as the roads go through forest area that is denser than that covered in the safari. Wildlife spotting is purely a matter of luck. Especially rare species like the great Indian Tiger are spotted by very few visitors. We weren't lucky enough to spot the Tiger but we saw a few other species while driving through the forest roads. Although it was a very nice and thrilling experience.
